A cotton boxer brief with a regular fly and waistband. An absorbent panel is sewn into the front, with a thin leak-resistant outer layer, so a few drops never reach your trousers. Made for light leaks, not for heavy leaking.
Guards and pads are held on by a strip of adhesive and built for heavier leaks. Most men over 60 deal with something smaller: a few drops after the restroom, or a small spurt when they stand up.
The absorbent panel is stitched into the front of the underwear, right where the drops land, so it is still in place when you stand up or walk away.
A regular waistband and fly, no crinkle when you sit and no line under khakis or jeans. Nothing on it says pad or guard.
Machine wash with your other clothes and wear it again, instead of opening another box of disposables every week.
Three habits keep the absorbent panel working.
Wash with your other clothes on a normal cycle. A quick rinse first is fine but not required.
Softener coats the absorbent panel and makes it absorb less. Leave it out of this load.
Hang them to dry rather than tumble drying on high heat, which wears out the elastic sooner.
